Virgin australia cabin crew requirements

The recruitment process begins with your application, which must be submitted online through the Virgin Australia Careers website. Your online application should provide information about your professional and educational background to demonstrate that you meet the requirements of the role. It is also important that you take the time to read the position information offered by Virgin Australia carefully to make sure that your experience and skills match the cabin crew role requirements.

If your application meets the minimum requirements and is short-listed, you will be invited to attend the Virgin Australia Recruitment Day at the base you have applied.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident
  • Passport holder ensuring unrestricted access to all Virgin Australia ports of call. If successful, your passport needs to have at least 18 months validity before commencing on a Training School 
  • Competency in written and spoken English
  • Australian Apply/Provide First Aid Certificate for Australian Cabin Crew opportunities or Comprehensive First Aid Certificate for New Zealand based opportunities. If successful, this must have a minimum of 12 months' validity before commencing on a Training School
  • Australian Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate. If successful, this must have a minimum of 6 months validity before commencing on a Training School (this qualification is not required for New Zealand based applicants)
  • Extensive customer service experience in a premium environment and recent experience in a face-to-face role
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • An excellent level of health and fitness in order to deal with the physical constraints of the job
  • Availability to work a 24 hour rotating shift roster over 7 days, including weekends, weekdays, public holidays and peak holiday periods such as Christmas, New Year and Easter
  • Able to reach a height of 180cm on flat feet and not be taller than 187cm
  • Able to successfully obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • If applicable, you may be required to relocate to your selected port at your own expense
  • Previous airline experience is not a requirement, as we look for individuals who understand and appreciate Virgin Australia's brand values and behaviours.

Gulf air flight attendants / cabin crew requirements

Gulf Air employs multi-cultural complement of Flight Attendants who serve their cabins across the network. Drawn from over 60 nationalities and speaking over 70 different languages, they provide the diversity and mix of cultures, religions and ethnic backgrounds to cater appropriately to passengers from all over the world.

You are required to attend the interview in formal business attire. Females should preferably wear a suit with a knee length skirt.

QANTAS CABIN CREW REQUIREMENTS

For Qantas cabin crew roles, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Height between 163 - 183cm, or for QantasLink 158cm - 183cm
  • Australian or New Zealand permanent residency and a passport ensuring unrestricted access to all Qantas ports of call with at least 12 months validity (QCCUK is the exception to this)
  • QCCUK applicants must hold the legal right to live and work in the UK
  • An excellent level of health and fitness, for example, being able to swim 50 metres fully clothed unassisted and tread water for 3 minutes
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate with a validity of 12 months at time of application
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol 'Statement of Attainment', which you would need to have by the end of the recruitment process
  • Strong commitment to customer service with recent experience in a face-to-face role
  • Demonstrated empathy in service with people from a variety of cultures and countries
  • A willingness to relocate, as required, to any location
  • Experience in Food and Beverage service is an advantage
  • Qantas requires demonstrated fluency in at least one of the following priority languages will offer a distinct advantage for our International Flight Attendant positions: French, German, Italian, Spanish, Thai, Mandarin or Cantonese. Your language skills would be utilised in assisting our customers with both service and safety information.
