Your application photographs for Emirates, Etihad or Qatar are very important

Some of you have posted your application pictures on certain facebook groups and asked members for advice which is a great thing. Whilst some advice given by group members are correct, others have not been quite so correct and there are inconsistencies in the advice given. There is of course a pdf guide issued by Emirates on their recruitment portal for those who prefer looking at the full detailed guide.

It is so important that everyone attending the Emirates open day or submitting their images online knows the high standards the recruiters are after.

Why are photographs so important? First it is about following Emirates procedures that as crew you have to do. Secondly the image presentation is very important as you will be the first person that the passenger sees when entering the aircraft and never forget you represent Emirates. If you can't do this for the application photographs, how could they trust you to meet their grooming standards if you were given the offer.

Do you know why so many applicants are sent home after the first round? They may have excellent dressing on the morning of the open day, strong presentation skills when asked to answer a couple of intro Qs by the recruiters, even have a strong presentable CV with good customer service experience. However, they are let down by poor photographs. It could be too high an angle, side shadows, taken indoors in poor light, poor posing, untidy hair, not smiling, wrong attire, use of bright colours when business formal attire has been clearly specified or their faces are overly retouched by their photographers leaving no skin texture and looking unreal.

I attach two photographs here which shows the high standards the recruiters expect. Do not give them anything less or you will not go far down the line.

So how should I go about getting pictures of this high standard? Do I need a professional photographer? No and no. Lauren here who allowed us to use her pictures as guidance took these pictures on her iPhone against an outside wall. She sent the pictures to us and we edited it to w white backdrop for her. She submitted it alongside her CV and cleared every round of the recruitment process, passed at first attempt!

You too can follow Lauren’s footsteps and we are here to guide and assist you with impeccable pictures.
