Cabin Crew CV templates, formats, examples and guides for Emirates, Etihad and Qatar cabin crew

Your cabin crew CV is your key to success either when you apply online or when attending an open day in one of your chosen cities.

We all know too well that your cabin crew CV for Emirates, Etihad or Qatar has to stand out to get shortlisted. You definitely need to make an impression with your CV.

Here, we will give you guidance and talk about templates and formats for ensuring you get the highest chance of being selected.

Before I begin, let me highlight to all of you reading this article that today all airlines use Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) to shortlist candidates. This is the upgrade to what was formerly known as “ATS” or Applicant Tracking System. Unlike the old ATS software which only looks for keywords and the amount of times keywords get repeated on your CV, this new AI hire software is capable of making sense of your job role and looks at your potential from what you describe in your current and past jobs. AI also has the capability of learning from what other candidates submit that was shortlisted. Yes, as scary as it sounds, it behaves like a human mind and is capable of learning what CV is acceptable to the recruiter. Well, welcome to the world of AI. AI will be our new buzzword in 2024, and many industries including airline recruitment are now using AI to ease and facilitate recruitment and doing the groundwork for them.

Now, there are certain limitations of AI recruitment software. This means the temples or free examples that you decide to use from the internet may not be readable to the new AI software.

Most templates, particularly the free online templates that you get on the Internet are set in columnar form. If you do not know what column are, they are typically set in the style we are familiar with when reading magazines and newspapers. This means you read one column (up-down) and then you read the next column. With the AI software, it strips out the columns and all text (regardless of formatting) will now be converted to plain text. Clouds are often changed to black and white. So, what will happen to white text on black columns. Well, we have a problem here. The AI will remove the black colour and now the text will appear white meaning that it cannot be read by the software. The implication of this means you may have great experience in say customer service but because you used the free column style free CV template, your shortlisting ranking score goes down. It means you have made yourself less likely to get shortlisted.

Try not to use free CV templates and examples online as most cannot be successfully read by the new HR AI software, and using them may cost you in terms of not getting shortlisted.

On my research, I found that 9 out of 10 CV template websites use this columnar style and love the use of colours on their CV examples. They even use graphic symbols to document strengths in various skills, represent skills in languages using the dot version of the horizontal bar chart. All of this means your CV cannot be read effectively by the AI software. The downside is your ranking score goes down the list.

So what should you do to optimise your ranking score to give yourself a favourable chance of getting shortlisted. Well, you need to stay with the one column approach. Unless the free templates change to single column templates, I would suggest you create your own single column template on “Word”, and use that instead. It will make your very own CV template stand out.

You include the same sub-headings on your CV except without the columns.

The AI software expects to see the following sub-headings when scanning your CV.
1. Personal Statement and some personal data.
2. Professional Experience
3. Education and qualificatios
4. Languages.

Leave out volunteering, hobbies and extra curricular activities unless you are a fresher from college or university and may only have limited work experience.

Your CV is your top marketing document. take care on using free templates and examples. The new AI software used by airline recruiters may not rank the column styled CV very highly.

With each role, state your achievements and results that make you successful in your career there. Do not list procedures, I do this and that, I welcome customers, make them coffee etc. these are too basic tasks that do not make you stand out from the competition.
